I am a not your typical chemist in that my interests are in materials science, which can be broadly defined as the relationship between the microstructure and physical properties of solid state materials. My particular interests in materials science cross the traditional disciplines of chemistry, physics, engineering and even biology and involve optical, electrical and mechanical properties of thin films.
