Augustine research

Thank you for checking out the teaching and research interests of Professor Brian Augustine in the Department of Chemsitry & Biochemistry at James Madison University.

My teaching and research spans across disciplines into the field of materials science. Materials science is the study of materials in the solid state and crosses the traditional boundaries of chemistry, physics, engineering and biology. My research interests are in the surface chemistry and physics of polymer thin films with applications in biomedical devices. My teaching interests are broad and include general chemistry, science for non-science majors and specialty courses in materials science and nanotechnology. Follow the links below to find out more about our research group, my teaching interests, and my interests outside of the classroom.
