Emma Langford and Kenny Shaughnessy

Emma is a senior chemistry major, and Kenny is a freshmen physics major. Both joined our group on May 2015 and they are intersted in studying

thermal and electrical properties of PEDOT-PSS thin films treated with sulfuric acid.

Hans Olson

Hans joined our group in September 2014, and he is a physics junior who is interested in understanding thermoelectrical properties of ball-milled Manganese Oxide nanoparticles.

Charles (a.k.a Broke) Crook

Broke is one of our physics major student who joined our group in January 2014.

- He is working on monte carlo simulations of transport properties of III-V semiconductors.

Nicole (a.k.a Nikki) Creange and Kevin Hunter

Both physics majors joined our (newly formed!) computational group in September 2013. Both students are co-advised together with Dr. Jason Haraldsen.

- Nikki uses density functional calcualtions to examine the effect of Gallium doping on the electronic band structure, electron density, and optical properties of graphene.

- Kevin is also using density functional calculations to understand the charge distribution effects with increasing layers of (LaAlO3)n/(SrTiO3)n with n = 1-6 multilayers.

Chester Szwejkowski

Chet is one of our physics major student who joined our group in September 2012.

- He is working on mediating nanoscale thermal transport across Metal-Gallium Nitride interfaces.

Morgan Hedden and Nicholas Francis

Morgan and Nick are both physics majors and joined our group in September 2012.

- Both are working to understand the thermoelectric properties of Manganese Oxide powders.

Kristen Dagenais

University of Maryland Baltimore College, US as part of the JMU REU program in Materials and Chemistry 2011.

- Helped with building the Atomic Layer Deposition Reactor.

Alex Pakpour-tabrizi

Royal Halloway University of London, UK as part of the JMU REU program in Materials and Chemistry 2010.

- Conducted Electrical measurements of Stoichiometric and Non-stoichiometric CrxNy thin films.

Taylor Mullins, Matthew Chamberlin

James Madison University, Physics Undergraduates 2010.

- Conducted Electrical and Surface properties measurements zinc and oxide nanostructures imbedded into conductive polymer PEDOT-PSS.

Edmund Satkiewicz
